NEET PG cutoff: qualifying percentiles and 2026 scores
The qualifying percentiles are official. The 2026 cutoff scores below were reported by Careers360; NBEMS’s own result notice is the final word.
How does the NEET PG cutoff work?
NEET PG does not have a fixed pass mark. You qualify if you reach a set percentile for your category. The score that matches that percentile is worked out from each year’s result, so it changes every year.
The qualifying percentiles in the NEET PG 2025 Information Bulletin are:
| Category | Qualifying percentile |
|---|---|
| General / EWS | 50th |
| General-PwD | 45th |
| SC / ST / OBC (including PwD) | 40th |
What was the NEET PG 2026 cutoff?
We could not retrieve NBEMS’s 2026 result notice. Careers360 reported these cutoff scores for NEET PG 2026:
| Category | Percentile | Cutoff score (out of 720, as reported by Careers360) |
|---|---|---|
| General / EWS | 50th | 262 |
| General-PwD | 45th | 244 |
| SC / ST / OBC (including PwD) | 40th | 226 |
These are the cutoffs as declared with the result. Check the NBEMS result notice on natboard.edu.in before relying on them.
According to News On AIR, the NEET PG 2026 result was declared on 24 September 2026 and covered about 2,65,960 candidates.
Why are 2026 scores out of 720 and not 800?
The 2025 paper had 200 questions for 800 marks. For 2026, news reports say the paper had 180 questions for 720 marks. So 2026 cutoff scores cannot be compared directly with 2025 scores. Compare percentiles instead. See the exam pattern page for details.
Is the qualifying cutoff the same as getting a seat?
No.
- The qualifying cutoff decides whether you are eligible for counselling at all.
- Getting a seat depends on your rank, your category, the choices you fill and the counselling rounds. Closing ranks for each course and college come out of counselling, not out of the NEET PG result.
How long is the NEET PG score valid?
The 2025 bulletin describes the result as being for that year’s admission session. Plan to take NEET PG again for a later session.
What should you aim for?
Qualifying is the floor. If you want a particular branch or institute, your target is a rank, and that means a score well above the qualifying mark.
Two habits move a NEET PG score more than anything else:
- Fewer avoidable negatives. With +4/−1 marking, each careless wrong answer costs a quarter of a correct one.
- No weak subject left unrevised. The paper covers the whole MBBS course, so a neglected subject costs marks every year.
The preparation strategy covers both.
