NTA has not said. The 2027 Information Bulletin and registration were not yet live on jeemain.nta.nic.in on 9 October 2026. In the last cycle, Session 1 registration opened on 31 October 2025. That is a past date, not a promise about this year.

When the bulletin comes out, read the eligibility section first. The 2026 rules are on our eligibility page, and the 2027 ones may differ.

The All India Rank is released only after Session 2, once scores from both sessions are merged. The percentile page explains how that works.

What happens after the JEE Main result?

The final result also fixes who can register for JEE Advanced. In 2026, JEE Advanced registration for JEE Main qualifiers ran from 23 April to 2 May 2026, and the exam was on 17 May 2026. See JEE Advanced important dates.

How much was the JEE Main 2026 application fee?

Fees are per session, for one paper, at a centre in India.

CategoryMaleFemale
General₹1000₹800
Gen-EWS / OBC-NCL₹900₹800
SC / ST / PwD₹500₹500
Third gender₹500₹500

The 2027 fees have not been announced.

How to plan around the dates

Taking both sessions is optional, and if you take both, the better of your two total NTA scores counts. That makes it sensible to prepare for Session 1 as a real attempt: a good January score takes the pressure off April, and a weak one still leaves you a second go.

Whichever session you aim at, regular full-length practice under exam timing is what makes the day feel familiar. Our preparation strategy suggests how to fit mock tests into the months before January.
