JEE Advanced 2027 important dates
What has been announced for 2027 (nothing yet), and the full 2026 timeline from registration to JoSAA, so you know how the year runs.
When is JEE Advanced 2027?
Not yet announced. As of 9 October 2026, the official site, jeeadv.ac.in, still showed 2026 and JoSAA notices. It had not published:
- the 2027 exam date
- the 2027 Information Brochure
- the organising IIT for 2027
We will update this page when the official announcement is made. Ignore any specific 2027 date you see elsewhere until it appears on jeeadv.ac.in.
What was the JEE Advanced 2026 timeline?
The 2026 cycle is the best guide to how the year runs. All dates are from the official brochure and site.

What should you do at each stage?
Using the 2026 timeline as a guide:
- Before registration opens: confirm you meet every eligibility condition, and keep your Class 12 and category documents ready. The window in 2026 was only ten days.
- Admit card: download it as soon as the window opens, and check your name, photo, date of birth and exam centre.
- Exam day: both papers are compulsory. Missing either one means you are not ranked.
- Candidate responses: in 2026 these were released four days after the exam. Save a copy of your responses.
- Provisional answer keys: compare them with your saved responses to estimate your marks, using the marking scheme for each section.
- Result: check your rank and whether you appear on a rank list. The cutoff page explains the minimum marks.
- AAT: only if you want B.Arch at an IIT that offers it. In 2026 it was held three days after the result.
- JoSAA: counselling for IIT seats began right after the result in 2026.
How does JEE Advanced fit with JEE Main?
JEE Advanced comes straight after JEE Main. In 2026:
- JEE Main Session 2 ran in early April.
- The JEE Main final result, with the JEE Advanced qualifying cutoffs, came out on 20 April.
- JEE Advanced registration opened three days later, on 23 April, and closed on 2 May.
That leaves very little time. Have your documents ready before the JEE Main result. The JEE Main dates page has the Main timeline, and the proposed 2027 Session 1 dates.
Which dates matter for your preparation?
In 2026 there were about four weeks between the JEE Main final result and JEE Advanced, and the exam itself is two three-hour papers on one day. That makes stamina part of the preparation. Practise sitting two full papers on the same day, with a break between them, as the exam pattern requires.
Before you register, check you meet every condition on the eligibility page, including the date-of-birth rule and the two-attempt limit.
